BUTTONS AND PINS

A mild winter here in Gibraltar, lots of lovely days, a little bit "fresh" in the morning and during night, but over all a sunny winter this year.
I've got and read few other books: "The Victorian City: Everyday Life In Dickens' London" by Judith Flanders and "Old Filth" by Jane Gardam; currently reading "A Gambling Man: Charles II's Restoration Game" by Jenny Uglow.
I have new items in my shop mainly "buttons and pins", lol...next to a French hair clip from '70s and a lot of colourful belt buckles.....take a look, they are all vintage and lovely.....

FIRST WEEK

We like to think a new year will bring us something different better and exciting. First week brought me good news from my friends from far far away which is always comforting considering last year I've lost one of my best friend to a horrible incurable disease, a Christmas card my 87 years aunt posted too late (bless her!), 8 skeins of wool to continue my granny-squares blanket, two orders in my shop, and two novels The Unconsoled by Kazuo Ishiguro and Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres.
I've listed new items in my shop shown bellow, and I bought few supplies from this shop and an old bone crochet from this shop.
Hope your new start was as good as mine even better. See ya.....

2014

Hello and Happy New Year! I hope that you had a beautiful holiday season and that you've had a good start in  2014; I wish you all to stay healthy and have best of luck !
I've been thinking a lot about resolutions, here are mine:
- Be "lazy"
- Spoil myself
- Treat myself  and
- Stay "cool" !

I know, I know...it sounds weird comparing with a world competing to get wealthy, noticed, rewarded, famous, successful, etc...but I can be all these (or not, who cares ?) without jeopardizing my health and my relationship.
"Lazy" means to to find more time to spend with my husband and my friends
Spoil myself means buy and read more books as I love them to bits
Treat myself means stop feeling guilty buying something I like or eat any ice cream or cake I crave for
Stay "cool" means try to stay calm when life gets so unfair

Have a lovely 2014 !
